How to print from an iPhone to a printer connected to a Mac

A Mac can print to almost any printer. Printo lets your iPhone use that, whether you are in the next room or on the other side of the world.

macOS sends print jobs through CUPS, which supports a huge range of printers over USB and the network, with or without AirPrint. That makes a Mac a good bridge for an iPhone, especially when the printer is older or lives on a different network.

The Printo computer app for Mac runs in the background, lists the printers set up in System Settings and receives the documents you send from your iPhone. It hands them to the printer through the same system your Mac uses for its own print jobs.
